Drawing processes

My drawing process usually take a week over time, as usually these drawing items are made in between other set activities. However, if I were able to set aside a full day, each drawing takes around 3-6 hours depending on details, backgrounds, the amount of characters and any props that may be needed. I start off with very rough sketches, references and then start to build off of the rough linework on more specific details. Then build off of that again for the more final clean variety of the project I am working on. Then I use the base colours to then block out the characters or object, then start shading with textured brushes. And finally I colour the line art. If backgrounds were needed, I would usually work on those first as they set the scene for everything else. However, if I am working with a client, I would first assess what they ask for, create a base sketch and ask for their opinion on the matter before refining. Then, I would once again present the work to them. Upon gaining approval I would forward to blocking out colour pallets. Then I would proceed as above and present the final artworks to them. If any changes need to be made, then I will adjust till their satisfied. My work  however also uses lots of layering to ensure that everything is editable before send off.

Font processes

Font Processes

I started off this project to create a font to assist with Astigmatism by assessing different fonts and trying to understand what of their typography made it easier to read. Was it the Leading? The size of the bar? Crossbar? Was the readability better if it was a sans serif instead? And taking what I learned, I then decided to try and experiment with a few typefaces without wearing my prescribed glasses to see what similarities have occurred between the studied fonts and what limited or used the blurriness to my advantage and moved on to digitalising. Then, worked on creating a font out of the word "Bone Axis."

App Processes

This project needed to study, observe and gather information around a willing participant to act as my User X and their daily life and struggles to create an app to assist them. I ended up using strategies like Empathy Maps, asking 5 Questions, Ethnographic travel photos, and other information around their daily life that they were willing to disclose. In which I had to determine what issues they encountered and could be assisted or dealt with. After coming to the user with different options, I worked with them to design the app around their preferences. Which resulted in creating the wireframe for this Stretch and Rest App concept. Moving into Figma to create the prototype, I provided it to my User X to watch their interactions and expectations of the app. And upon getting their feedback would make the needed changes that would fit within the time frame provided.
